Understanding is the key to collaboration

Understanding is the key issues of life. Without understanding our situation will become worsen and state of confusion.
As human, collaboration is very essential and for us to collaborate to solve our climate issues and risk reduction, there must be digestion of each others perspective.
Understanding each others perspective does not come easily and not on a plater of gold but on an effective dialogue  between two parties.
To be able to solve the problem arises locally, nationally, internationally, we need collaboration with result.
In the process of collaboration, there will be dialoguing, through dialoguing, there is solution to the now challenges and the future problem that might arises.
Lack of understanding result to different voices that lead to different aim, goal, vision and objectives which lead to productivity and destruction.
Lack of understanding help promoting long dialoguing that leave stakeholders no choice in promoting same issue without solution.
Lack of understanding result to bridging neighbor privacy. Lead to deceit and inaction of the people. It help the situation become more worsen.
The major problem facing in our world today, organisation, institution is the lack of understanding. That why we remain on the same issue for years before the solution could finally emerge. If we want our world to be peaceful and stand the test of time, be governable and multi stakeholders inclined. Everyone must key into the same vision and objectives. This will help us to achieve much in little years.

FLOOD COULD CAUSE NIGERIA POTENTIAL DAMAGES

FLOOD COULD CAUSE NIGERIA POTENTIAL DAMAGES   Well, little effort has been put in place in order to help combat the unforeseen flood disaster. Among this is awareness to help people prevent these challenges, building of channel for water passage, drainage and evacuating the living and building along the water path. Despite the effort putting in place people still show nonchalant attitude toward flood awareness program. I would still say that if Nigeria experiences more rainfall that is beyond that of 2012, many lives and property worth millions will be destroy as a result of nonchalant attitude of the people, small size of drainage system and low quality of material for building drainage system and inaction of the leaders. The Heavy rain fall experienced by Nigerian cities early 2012 killed 363 and rendered useless over 2,100,000 people as of November, 2012(Reuters, 2012) The cities such as Lagos, Ibadan (oke-ayo and Eleyele), Plateau, Jos, Cross River, Borno, Benue, Kog...

The African Civil Society Society for the Information Society (SCASI or ACSIS) has a new executive office since 03 November 2016. It is chaired by Senegalese Cissé Kane (photo) Interim for some years. He was elected by acclamation as the only candidate for this post. He will be assisted during the next four years by Nigerian Remmy NWEKE as vice-president. The vote was held online for two days and the 175 members on the ACSIS mailing list were asked to vote for two posts, namely the Vice-President and the Treasurer. Like the post of the president, the other candidates for regional coordinator positions in the five regions of Africa did not have challengers. They were elected ex officio. The electoral process was completed and resulted in the election of the new executive board with a participation rate of 45%. Opportunity for the new president to thank all the members of the SCASI and especially those who conducted the electoral process. The minutes of the GA must now be produ...

MANAGING DISASTER: WAY FORWARD

MANAGING DISASTER: WAY FORWARD Currently in Nigeria, the approaches adopted towards managing disaster are pro-active approach. The Nigeria Environmental Management Agency (NEMA) embarked on a new initiative in disaster risk management to contain disaster or emergency through pro-active deployment of resources and personnel. This is toward raising awareness and building of early warning system and response mechanisms that can help in term of hazardous period but this could probably be statement alone and not accompany with action. Over the years Nigerians have been experiencing disasters that left most people in a dire poverty situation with no or little help from the government and agencies which lacks capacity and wherewithal to intervene in such difficult situation. Till now in some part of Nigeria, the reactive approach are still in practice because mostly the disaster will have occur before any intervention could be made either indirectly or directly and this would h...
